about

As I interpret a new chart, I speak of the things visible on the chart just as I see them. As they speak to me themselves. This often requires me to sleep with the chart, walk with the chart, keep it in my mind and study it. I wait for it, for the chart to open up to me. An astrologer is like a Socratic midwife – helping the chart-owner comprehend the entirety of their horoscope.

Chart interpretation is palpation. I trust my words like a doctor trusting their hands as they examine a body. I describe organs, bones, muscles, perhaps tumors: the planets, their relationships, and where they have nested. At its best, the one who speaks can physically touch the listener, for the words find a surface to grip on the listener's body. It is also translation: if multiple people translate the same text the end products will most likely differ. Yet, the essence of successful translations remains the same. The more sovereign a speaker one becomes, the more freely the language can be used: the more precisely meanings, nuances, and tones are conveyed when translating, not just concrete words.

When explaining what is happening on a person’s chart, I might not know what it means in their life. I describe what I see. The listener finds meaning themselves through my speech: the speech becomes a mirror against which they reflect. The view in the mirror might surprise. The map is not the terrain.

I’m a writer, a neuroscientist, a philosopher and an astrologer. My interests include the unseen, the seen; the body, non-human animals, intersections of science, the lived experience and magic; language and voice, memory and sound, spaces and dreams.

I have a special interest for swimming halls, spas, deep natural bodies of water & old forests. These are the recurring themes of my dreams, too.

I have degrees both in philosophy and neuroscience. I write charts, essays, poems and fiction. To me, words are the building blocks of our reality.

At the heart of all my interests is diving deep into things, seeing beneath the surface of systems and using words to dissect and bring to light what at first seems intangible. The system I am most interested in is the human being as a constantly rebirthing embodied soul.

I’ve always looked for words. I discovered astrology through words: as words. I had just learnt to read, and I was obsessed with skimming through my mother’s bookshelf. There was a book called Little Stars, which was aimed for parents — mostly to mothers — to discover about the sun sign of their child, to prepare what kind of personality to emerge. I looked for my sign. I read it. The words hit my brain like the Sun. I had arrived at a truth. I had planted a seed.

With astrology, I am here to help you understand yourself better through your own chart. My aim is to guide you through your chart in a way that will give you tools to see your life and personality as a purposeful whole.

I believe that everyone is born exactly with the chart that is built to deliver the best lessons for each individual in this lifetime — our task is just to decode what our charts are trying to tell us. This means different things in different times; our charts live with us, through us, and it is our task to learn to listen to them, to tune into them.

Astrology holds tremendous potential to transcend knowledge- and belief systems rooted in capitalism. It offers us ways to understand each other, ourselves and the world as if lifting a veil. Astrology as a tool can be a mirror, a map, a microscope… but also a hammer.

I use Whole Sign Houses. My take on astrology is traditional but esoterically influenced. My practice is fully based on belief in rebirth and karma. I do readings both in English and Finnish.

Astrology is present in my everyday life and I couldn’t navigate without it. I am more than happy to share this joy.
